Important advice


  • The issuance of entry visas to the Republic of Kenya takes place in all Kenyan missions abroad, visas to tourists can also be issued on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi at a cost of US $ 50 for normal Qatari passport. Diplomatic passports are exempt from the fees.
  • Visitors who are interested in tourism is advised to make prior arrangement with travel agencies and safari deployed in Nairobi in order to avoid exposure to fraud by some persons who used to exploit foreign tourists due to their ignorance of the tourist sites and the lack of familiarity with the laws.

You must beware of exchanging currency at the black market or in the streets as people are  often subjected to theft and forgery.
  • The exchange rate of the US dollar ranged between 100 to 101 Kenyan shillings to the dollar.
  • Credit cards visa Cards and Master Cards and others are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and shopping malls, so it is advisable to use credit cards while keeping a small amount of cash to the need and to reduce the size of the losses in the event of loss or exposure to theft- God forbid.
  • It is preferable to notify the embassy of your arrival  in the country to enable the Embassy to provide assistance if necessary, and in the case of loss of a passport this should be reported to the embassy immediately in order to take the necessary measures and inform the local authorities. You must inform the embassy on your place of residence during the period of stay in the country and give a copy of the passport to the embassy while always keeping communication with the embassy.
  • You should always exercise caution while roaming in the center of the capital, especially at night where there are frequent incidents of looting and theft, and sometimes under the threat of light weapons, so the visitor must take into account all aspects of security and not to wander alone in the popular places and dark peripheral neighborhoods.
